5 January

Two schooners Salome ( United Kingdom) of Dartmouth and Heiress ( United Kingdom) of Teignmouth were each attended by the lifeboat Richard Lewis ( Royal National Lifeboat Institution) which was launched twice at Long Rock, Mount's Bay, Cornwall.^[1]^[2]

On voyage from Demerara to London, the Glasgow registered barque John Gray at Long Rock in a tremendous SSW gale. Thirteen crew saved by the lifeboat Richard Lewis ( Royal National Lifeboat Institution).^[1]

6 February

During a service to the Georgiana five crew of the Padstow, Cornwall, lifeboat drowned after the lifeboat capsized.

March

Dutch East Indiaman, the Jonkheer Meester Van de Putterstock with a cargo of sugar, coffee spices and Banca tin valued at £50 000 under Angrouse Cliff near Mullion Cove, Cornwall.^[3]
